Prologue
A pioneer of cashless society that has changed the times
The origin of the company name IWI is "to cause a shock wave that will change the times." The company started its business in 1984, at the dawn of cashless payments in Japan. In 1989, it developed "NET+1," which provides network connection functions and authorization functions necessary for card payments in real time 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It has been highly praised by financial institutions, building relationships of trust and establishing a solid position in the industry. In 1999, it developed "ACEPlus," which detects fraudulent use of credit cards, contributing to the establishment of safe and secure cashless payments. "NET+1" and "ACEPlus" still maintain the top market share today, and continue to provide the value of "trust" by responding to cloud computing and cross-industry platformization.
Business Expansion
Expanding business areas by applying core technologies cultivated in payment
IWI has broadened the scope of its business by applying the core technologies it has cultivated in payment, such as communications, data processing and analysis, and security, to various fields. In 1991, it developed a unique data processing and analysis product for the securities industry. It supports the industry with an IT infrastructure that can reliably exchange large amounts of data in real time. In 2003, it applied its card fraud detection technology to develop CWAT, a product to prevent internal information leaks from companies, and entered the security business. Furthermore, in 2019, it has expanded its field of challenge beyond finance, developing a system for the broadcasting industry.
